For use outside of public roads and in motorsport only<br> The dropout plate that fits between the EGR valve and cooler is made from laser cut 1.5mm stainless steel. The cooler plate is 2mm stainless steel and has been milled to smooth and give it a worn for a better seal The MK7 and MK8 Transit suffered from leaking EGR coolers. This can give the impression that the cylinder gasket has blown. Two things can happen. (1) Exhaust gases leak into the engine coolant which pressurizes the system and blows water out. I know of quite a few engines damaged due to this problem (2) When left standing, water is forced into the intake system which can cause hydraulic lock and also damage the engine There are two different types of EGR coolers. Round tube type and square section tube type. The kit has 3 plates, one that fits over the EGR valve end of the cooler, and 2 plates (the larger one) so one can be installed between the exhaust manifold and the EGR cooler.
