From 1911 to 1912 he was the first violinist of the "Tonkünstler-Orchester" in Vienna, and from 1912 to 1915 he held the position of Concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic. Hs subsidized his tuition playing with the spa orchestra in Františkovy Lázně in 1922.
