Unsurprisingly, the 40th anniversary of the Nike Air Force 1 included news of high-profile collaborations, capsule collections, and reissues of Bruce Kilgore's iconic design in original styles. In addition, as part of this milestone, the silhouette designed for basketball was presented in experimental versions that will certainly continue to advance the sneaker for the next 40 years. Case in point: A Nike React backed version of Kilgore's creation. While the Air Force 1 React isn't entirely new, it has recently received a visual update since its launch in 2020. Most of the shoe's forefoot remains intact from Kilgore's 1982 Vision, although the side quarter panels feature a miniature embroidered Swoosh. The midfoot and heel construction swaps leather for nylon and mesh for a highly breathab.
