Ideal for reducing or reshaping wire Hole diameters from 0.26mm - 2.8mm Made from tungsten For use with a drawbench or vice A drawplate is a tool used to reduce the thickness and diameter of wire. It consists of a hardened metal plate with a series of progressively smaller holes through which wire is pulled or ''drawn''. This drawing process reduces the wire's diameter and making it longer. How to use a drawplate: Prepare the drawplate: Make sure the drawplate is secured and tighten in a vice. Prepare the wire: Anneal it by heating it to a dull red colour and then quenching it in water. After annealing the wire will be more malleable and easier to work with. Lubricate the wire: Coat the wire with a lubricant like beeswax or drawing lubricant.
