Late 19th/Early 20th Century 9ct Gold & Faux Tortoiseshell Pique Snake Ring

A very unusual late 19th century early 20th century snake ring, with a gold head and tail and body carved from faux tortoiseshell. There is an indistinct mark to the inside tail and the gold tests as at least 9 carat. The width of the shank as worn on the finger is half an inch, and it’s somewhere between a N and an O in size. It is in good condition with no losses, with an overall dark brown tone to the shell with flashes of gold and cream to the mottling.
