With the motto 'Rendezvous with Destiny', one of the 101st Division's most famous battles was at Bastogne, Belgium, during the Ardennes Offensive. The German Military had the town surrounded. With the cold weather, low ammunition, and low rations, the 101st and a small number of the 10th Armoured Division, held off wave after wave of attacks to take the town.
