Two Pounds Coin 1707-2007

The coin was produced in 2007 and was made to celebrate 300 year since Scotland and England united under one Parliament in 1707. Divided into four quarters, the design features a rose and a thistle occupying two of the quarters to represent Scotland, and a portcullis which represents the Houses of Parliament on the other two. The coin, which was designed by Yvonne Holton, also features the dates 1707 and 2007, while the Queen's head is adorned on the reverse
