This Panasonic NV-MC10B camcorder uses VHS-C ( compact) cassette tapes. (Not to be confused with the NV-M10B camcorder which uses full-size VHS tapes). Panasonic VHS-C Camcorder (NV-MC10B). The Viewer switches on showing scan lines, but the SP/LP indicator is in focus - the issue may be faulty viewer, cable, output from camcorder, or my finger-trouble¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
