The map in fact dates from 1821, when it appeared in Robert Miller's "New Miniature Atlas." For this later children's map, the railway from London to Dover has been added. The map is surrounded with vignettes, from top right in a clockwise direction; Rochester (with the bridge, the castle and the cathedral); Dover Castle; Hop-picking scenes (along the bottom); Shakespeare Cliff, Dover; and top left, Canterbury Cathedral.
