Thomas Jefferson introduced this heirloom variety in 1781. The Persimmon tomato is a golden fruit the color of an egg yolk. It has a marvelous flavour-low in acidity, creamy, and fruity taste. The plant produces huge, beefsteak-type, slicing tomatoes that ripen to lovely, peachy-orange colors of the Persimmon.
