Recent attic find is this: Antique 1905 WRIGHT & DITSON Championship Tennis Racquet named " THE SURPRISE " as shown in our photos. We believe it still has the original catgut stringing which over the decades has stiffened and came apart in a couple of spots. The Wright & Ditson Championship Trade Mark decal on the front is in nearly mint condition. It pictures a tennis player wearing the garb of the late 1800's standing atop a stitched tennis ball and below that the words Reg U.S. Pat. Off. Made In U.S.A. When turned to the reverse side it shows the decal and words " THE SURPRISE ". This is a real treasure for any collector of antique tennis racquets and could easily be the highlight for someone's collection.
