The back story to this is my dad was flying this in a model aircraft when the engine stopped and he said he thought it must have run out of fuel, so he brought it in dead stick and refueled it, then restarted the engine which ran for about 5 seconds and then the top of the crankcase blew off, it would be at this point that the piston skirt was dented hitting the now open lower crankcase.
