1886 BACON'S New MAP of LONDON & ILLUSTRATED GUIDE Large Linen Antique Map

This is a rarely seen antique 'Bacon's new Map of London and Illustrated Guide' dating to 1886. The map covers central London on a scale of 4 inches to a mile with concentric half-mile circles radiating from the city centre of Charing Cross. The map covers the area from West Kensington in the west to the West India Docks area in the east and from Hampstead in the north to Camberwell in the south of London with highlighted boundary lines for postal districts. The guide is undated however the Gordon tricycle advertisement announces its new model as 'For 1886'. The large linen maps is in good clean condition with little age related markings and only very minor fold separation. The Strangers Guide part has historically been re-attached to the inner cover, please see detailed photos.
