Antique Royal Navy-issued regulation ditty box, also sometimes termed as a sea chest or sea trunk. This box was for personal possessions. With fittings in the lid for letters and pen tray. Key included with a working lock. G.E Smith stencilled on the front under name plate and inside the lid. 137 also stencilled inside the lid. The metal name plate on the front is blank. Condition: Antique condition with general locks, chips and surface wear commensurate with age and use. It looks to have had some wood filler applied in places on the pen tray and a couple of places on the exterior. Nice patina to the wood. Dimensions: Height 15cm, length 30cm, width 20cm. Weight: 2kg
