It was released on the Epic Records label in November 1982. It was produced by Quincy Jones who had previously produced his 1979 Off The Wall album. Thriller was his first #1 album on Billboard’s Top LP’s and Tape chart, and stood atop it for a record 37 non-consecutive weeks.
