This unit is a FAILSAFE lock release that requires the power to be REMOVED to unlock and power to be APPLIED to lock so is particularly suitable for systems that require the door to be unlocked in the even of power loss. The unit should be fitted to the keep side of a traditional Yale type door lock (known as a night latch) and is supplied with a morticing plate to convert the lock for mounting in conjunction with a mortice type night latch.
