Pull to throttle - 2 Stroke engines produced before 2006. Push to throttle - 2 Stroke engines produced after 2006 & all 4 strokes. Your remote is now 'pull to throttle'. Remove the old linkage, replace with this one, carefully align everything, refit the panel and screws, taking care not to force anything.
