A lovely light that has been wired for desktop use with no modifications. Original label from sale arpund 1992 Thick red glass and rubber anti vibration mount. Brass fittings make me think of anti explosion locations. More likely from a submarine but cant trace it. One of my best items that I often use on my desk. Would welcome more info to correct the listing Dont want to sell, but wife hates it
