Early American Wool Overshot Coverlet Colonial 18thC Beautiful Textile History. 84" x 58", made of 3 panels joined on selvedge sides. Note long sided are the finished selvedge, the short ends are rolled and sewn in place. All hand stitching of both ends intact as are the two lines correctly joining the 3 panels. There is variation in the dark colors, and probably some fading of the red most notable on one side. There are a few small stains and one 1" long tear that has frayed to about a 1/4" wide. Incredible for being well over 225 years old. No odors, has been carefully stored. Weighs 5.5lbs, very dense, heavy coverlet.
