As UPVC degrades from Ultraviolet rays from the sun, it emits toxic gases, such as Vinyl chloride. This chlorine gas will attack the chemical bonds of the polytunnel sheeting. This will cause heat and friction points, again these points are weakened and will eventually cause the polytunnel fail.
