Very Rare Gutta Percha Snuff Bottle. Made of Gutta Percha which became very popular in the later 1800’s to early 1900’s So the pieces bridges Victorian & Civil War Era. Gutta Percha is a rubber type wood that is black thru out so chipping & scratching is not a concern. The Bottle is 3 3/4” in height and 2” wide at widest point. Depth is 3/4” There is a dated large screw that attaches lid. This piece is in the original condition it was discovered in. Stored in collectors home smoke free/pet free.
