This is a vintage, 9ct gold rope chain that is well-made and has a lustrous, warm yellow colour. It is hallmarked by the Sheffield assay office and marked as being imported between 1975 and 1998. The maker's mark is IBB and it is stamped 0.375 purity. It is 16 inches (41 cm) long with a spring ring fastener and a weight of 4 grams. It is in very good condition apart from some wear which can only be seen with the X10 lens.
