Set of 2 vintage midcentury Nativity scene laying animal figurines. 1 gray donkey (mule) - 4" tall x 5.5" wide. 1 brown ox (or cow?) - 3.5" tall x 5" wide. Hand painted chalkware or plaster. Rustic and worn but rather charming! These have been well-loved and do have some wear throughout. There are spots of paint loss and a few small chips, including on the donkey's face and the ox's ears. See photos for a closer look.
