The D-28 is Martin's most famous guitar. It was first introduced in 1934 as a dreadnought model with a 14th fret joint, similar to the current model, and remains a beloved world-standard model. It features a spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, an ebony fingerboard and bridge, patent milk bottle Grover tuning pegs, MOP fingerboard dot inlays, a square neck rod, a checkered flag back strip, a rosewood bridge plate, non-scalloped X-bracing, and an original saddle.
