Satsuma ware double handled vase or urn, beautiful item from the 1890s or early 1900s. Japanese Satsuma with its elaborately decorated ivory glazed body. This style of vase was designed and exported predominantly to Europe and North America and was very popular at the turn of the 19th-20th century. This vase depicts a rich design of native flora and two governmental officials/figures dressed in traditional clothing. Minor imperfections due to age, but no damages or repairs and in lovely condition. Stands 12" tall and is 5" wide with handles. In one of the photos of the lip of the vase, there is a V shaped impact point...no loose glaze or pottery, just this darkened mark.
