Like the Custom, the body features a maple top and mahogany back, but the bolt-on maple neck provides fast response and clear projection, making it a perennially popular model. While the current CE model features a shallower, flatter arch than the Custom in the CORE lineup, the early models produced up until around 2008 had a shape closer to the Custom, achieving a more luxurious appearance.
