MARINE CHRONOMETER German by LANGE & SOHNE caliber 100, 2 day fusee, circa 1951

Vintage precision marine chronometer made by Lange & Sohne circa 1951 (around the time the Soviets took over the firm and added the Q mark to the dial). Offered in good working order and good, original condition. The winding key is later. The Kaliber 100 2 day chain fusee movement is in original condition and running strongly. This model was made up until around 1976 but the serial number of this example (2540) suggests a date around 1951. The hardwood case also stamped with the same serial number. I have had the clock running the last two weeks winding once a day at around 10.00a.m. with it gaining several seconds per twenty four hours. Weighs 4.1kg before wrapping. The case measures 18.5cm square and stands 18.5cm high (cubic form). The chronometers bezel is 12cm in diameter. Offered for sale BUY IT NOW...
