Tongue cleaning can cause discomfort. Improper use of a tongue cleaner may induce the gag reflex and/or vomiting. it is gentle and very effective on the tongue. Stainless steel tongue cleaners are far superior to the plastic ones (that is why we prefer to eat with stainless steel spoons rather than plastic spoons).
