Under Sir Peter Coats and his brother Thomas, Ferguslie Thread Works became one of the biggest mills in the world. It had been founded by James Coats in 1826. This is a wooden box with painted floral detailing to the top and inside the lid a paper picture of the thread works There’s damage to the box as shown and no catch and marks to the paper on lid however still a beautiful piece of history
