If your wheel has a Shimano HG (hyperglide) style freehub your options for running an up to date 12 speed grouspet are very limited. This cassette allows you to have a 12 speed cassette with a huge 50t sprocket without the added faff and expense of swapping your freehub or having to replace your entire rear wheel.
