I got the year from the Typewriter Database website using the serial number. This unit is extremely well taken care of. It was in complete working order when it was given to me recently. It just needs a more detailed cleaning and ribbon. I did not want to take it apart to clean it to not compromise its integrity. I just cleaned the exterior and case. It had only 1 owner. See all pictures before purchase since there are no returns. Good luck.
