This is the first issue of the round one pound coin of 1983 depicting Queen Elizabeth II, It is believed that this coin is rare due to a minting error in regards to the inscription being upside down ( DECUS ET TUTAMEN ) , NOT only is this the case but the inscription alignment is not parallel around the edge of the coin. Please refer to the photo marked with the red line which shows the lettering on the edge of the coin. The coin itself I would class as uncirculated and in mint condition. Please refer to the photos supplied which reflect the actual condition of this outstanding coin.
