The original reverse design of the Britannia coin was designed by Christopher Ironside. The last Britannia 50p coin was produced in 2008 and was replaced by the Royal Shield. The lowest & most valuable 50p coins in the Britannia series are those that have no general circulation or at best, a very low circulation.
