Even when the bikes are loaded you still have access to the trunk. The Thule VeloCompact 926 3-bike uses Thule's Hercules tow ball coupling, increasing the rack's load capacity and allowing it to be expanded to take up to 4 bikes (Requires adaptor TH926101), one of the few racks to safely do so.
