Paris approx. 1790. Very rare, border-colored copperplate card of approx. 1790. Sheet dimensions: approx. 43.5 x 48 cm. - with restored failure on the left edge, otherwise well preserved. || Very rare old colored map from c. 1790. Most Likely Early State Of The Map by Louis Capitaine du Chesne (C.1749-1797) From La Rochefoucauld-Liancourt's voyage dans les fats unis d'Arenique Fait ET 1797, Possibly a test/sample print. We Assume the Plate is the same as the one used for the published map, which Suffered Some Changes Before Reaching Its Final State. Some of the Differences Noticeble on our map: - The title is different, shorter; - The Scale of the Map is Missing on the Lower Part; - Okefenokee swamp is not marked as a different land form; - The Nord and Sud Marks Are Replaced by N. and S.
