Antique Chinese celadon-glazed stoneware bowl, late Qing - Republic c. 1880–1930

Chinese celadon-glazed stoneware bowl, late Qing to early Republic Period (c. 1880–1930). Wheel-thrown with a softly pooled pale blue-grey glaze over a sandy buff body, the unglazed foot showing natural kiln grit and turning marks consistent with period manufacture. Diameter approx. 12 cm, height approx. 6.5 cm. Condition is very good for age with no cracks or repairs. Light rim and base wear from original use only. Firing imperfections and glaze variations are entirely consistent with hand-produced Chinese utilitarian wares of this period. Purchased from an antique shop in Beijing in the 1990s, and part of a long-held private collection. A genuine, attractive example of antique Chinese monochrome domestic ware — ideal for collectors of Qing and Republic period ceramics.
