It’s less “bloom-y” than ECC82/12AU7 but more articulate with low microphonics for quiet V1 positions. Primary Successor: 12AU7. Both tubes’ direct successor is the 12AU7, a miniature equivalent that maintains similar electrical performance but in a smaller envelope.
