The Kindle Fire HD has two Ports - a charging port and a HDMI port. If your Kindle does not have these two ports then this cable will not work on your device. This does not work with the Kindle Fire HD 2013 generation and Kindle Fire HDX (new generation) as the HDX does not have a HDMI port.
