Jane Baca (1919-2011) and Starr Tafoya (b. 1951) are a mother and daughter pottery duo from Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico. Jane Baca was a renowned Santa Clara Pueblo potter, and Starr Tafoya, her daughter, is also a talented potter, known for her work with blackware pottery. Jane Baca was a prominent Santa Clara Pueblo potter who won her first award at the Santa Fe Indian Market in 1979 and her work is included in the Heard Museum's collection. Jane was the sister of Pablita Velarde and Legoria Tafoya, both notable artists. Starr Baca is the daughter of Jane Baca and has been a potter for over 20 years. She has won multiple awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market and the Eight Northern Pueblos Show. She often works with her mother, Jane, and they sign their work together as "Jane and Starr, Santa Clara pueblo".
