This is a brand new Audio Technica AT2020 which won several awards in tests a few years ago. Although much less costly than the 4000 series, the sound quality is superb. As a cardioid pattern pick-up, this is ideal in a studio setting for both vocals and instruments with very low noise electronics running from phantom power.
