New silver 1- and 2- drachma coins were minted in 1910 and 2- drachma coin in 1912. The observe on both silver coins displays the mature portrait of king George. The reverse draws its inspiration from an ancient coin of the king of Epirus, Pyrrhus, which shows Thetis on horseback handing to her son Achilles the armour made by Hephaestus.
