This is a vintage, handmade butterfly wing tray, with a hand cut and inlaid marquetry border. It was made between the 1940’s and the 1950’s. The iridescence of the wings changes almost magically according to how the tray is held in relation to the light. There are smooth handholds on the sides, making it easy to balance, even with drinks or a heavy plate on top. The blue Morpho butterfly wings are in perfect condition, with no deterioration or slippage. Please see the photos and ask any questions you may have.
