Vintage Pot Lid - St James’s Relish: “Flacker Shooting” VGC

This vintage Staffordshire pot lid from St James's Relish depicts “Flacker Shooting”, part of a colourful duck hunting image that was originally published in 1820 (designed by the artist Henry Thomas Alken and engraved by J Hart). No maker’s marks. Excellent condition. No chips or cracks. Clean and bright. Lid only. St James’s Relish was a popular British savoury spread of the 19th and early 20th centuries, similar in nature to the better-known “Gentleman's Relish” - most definitely not an ointment!
