Trinity County [California] Historic Sites By Alice Goen Jones HC/DJ, 1988 Rev.

"Trinity County, in northwestern California, is an area of unusual historic significance. Although separate from the traditional mother lode area of the state, Trinity County was a product of the gold rush. As in the mother lode, gold was discovered, along the Trinity River in 1848. Although the rush to the gold mines in California was focused on the foothill region of the Sierra Nevada, a rush of significant proportions also occurred to the mining camps along the Trinity River. The communities, ghost towns, and mining camps of Trinity County had their beginnings in those historic years following the gold discovery. Many structures still stand that date back to those early years." The book includes many b & W photos, index at the back.
