Verbascum thapsus, the great mullein, greater mullein or common mullein is a species of mullein native to Europe, northern Africa, and Asia, and introduced in the Americas and Australia. Mullein tea is made from the yellow flowers of this plant. Mullein leaves and flowers are edible, enjoying a cup of tea made from these parts is generally preferable. Leaves and flowers can be used in a salad. Add a small handful of dried flowers to a cup (240 mL) of boiling water. Steep them for 15–30 minutes and enjoy.
