KyM was founded as K&M (Kissing & Möllmann) in 1826, and started making coffee grinders in 1872 in Iserlohn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. With respect to dating, the cast aluminium crank was a 1950s introduction; this model was produced in the 1930s with a steel crank, model number #373, but I have not yet been able to find the updated 4-digit model number for the 1950s version.
