vintage Wedgwood Napoleon Ivy ashtray. The pattern, Napoleon Ivy, was first produced around 1800 and was famously used by Napoleon Bonaparte during his exile on St. Helena. The design features a continuous ivy vine in green tones on a creamy white background with a green border. The ashtray is also sometimes described as a trinket dish, suitable for holding jewelry or coins. The Napoleon Ivy pattern was produced by Wedgwood from 1815 to 2003 and is now discontinued.
