Fresh air and sunlight degrade latex balloons very quickly so uninflated balloons should be kept in a sealed container out of heat and sunlight, these balloons will last upwards of 4 months inflated if they aren't exposed to fresh air (naturally occurring ozone in fresh air oxidises the latex quickly) so if kept indoors they last really well.
