Vintage men's valet with drawer to sit on dresser, desk or bathroom cabinet. Use for jewelry, coins and bills, pens, mail. This has pen marks and some staining on the fabric inside the drawer, see pics. The stains probably came from coins. No odors. The top of this valet looks like it has a crack on it, see pics. But to me it is actually looks like two slats that has separated. The two slats are visible from inside the drawer hole, see pics. The crack has not loosened it, it is sturdy.
