Very Rare Antique Early 18th Georgian Cross Stitch Sampler Dated 1733

A very rare and lovely early example of cross stitch on linen from the reign of George II. Dated 1733, stitched by Mary Boulton, aged 16 years, the sampler depicts letters, numbers, flowers, shapes and crowns in silk and/or wool thread. Despite being nearly 300 years old the sampler still has good colour and is in overall very good condition for its age - there has been a small rip in the linen at some stage in its long life on the left hand side underneath the 6 line of lettering, and the linen has aged in colour commensurate with age - please see photos. Sampler size 19.5cm x 33.5cm Frame size 32.5cm x 47.5cm After a lot of research on the internet, I have only managed to find a handful of other samplers of this age!
